Information about scooters :-)?
Hello, I have been wanting a scooter for a while now and would like to know more about them. I am 15 years old and where i am from you can drive one at 14. I would just like to have an idea about the costings and how much insurance would be and also what type maybe best e.g. vesper or something. Also i wouldn't be driving very far just to school and places which usually takes about 15 mins in a car Thank you Eleanor

What is a good scooter to buy under $3000?
I am looking for a job soon and instead of a car, I am looking into something cheaper like a scooter . However, what are good scooters to look into that are relatively inexpensive? Weight wise I am 250 and want to get something that will literally move me.

Oregon <50cc scooter laws?
I plan on buying a motor powered scooter that is not street legal. Like this one extremescooters.biz scooterx 52cc x racer.aspxWhat are the laws pertaining to street legality, where you can can't ride, license requirements, helmet requirements, age requirements, insurance requirements, and anything else I should know?I plan on riding it on a day to day basis to form school and such. I am 17 and do not have a license. Most information I have found either is outdated or lacks a reliable source. Thanks in advance

Are Scooters Predominantly made for ladies?
I am a 27 years old man and I bought a second hand motorcycle for travelling. But i hate having to change gears and hold the clutch all the time in traffic. I am too impatient for that. I love riding however I do not like to change gears all the time. My question is are scooters just for ladies? I am contemplating buying a scooter however my friends say that scooters are for ladies. I hope to buy a vespa lx 125

First scooter than move up to motorcycle?
So I want to start ridding. I had a pocket bike in high school and loved it. It'd go about 40. I plan to use it for getting around through the city, also gas prices are high, and it takes me half an hour to find parking at my job have you seen that whole foods parking lot song? also same goes for school.I'm female who is 5'4" weighing in around 105lbs. Live in Los Angeles.I've been doing some research. See that 150cc engine is good start for people, because it's powerful enough to get around while driving actual speed limit. And because of my size may even be capable of going on the freeway because of my small size allowing for a bit more speed.I was thinking about going for the Buddy 125 genuinescooters.com buddy.html Specsfor starts But I really love small cruisers and right now my dream is to be able to ride Honda Rebel powersports.honda.com 2012 rebel.aspx But feel I should work my way up to it.Then I found out about the Sym Wolf Classic 150 alliancepowersports.com models Wolf.htmlAnd thought maybe it's better to get first before moving up to the Rebel than getting a scooter and moving up.What would you suggest for a beginner? I definitely plan on taking some classes, and doing more read up on owning one. But opinions are appreciated.

What are the pros and Cons of getting a Vespa Scooter?
I am 15 years old and I was talking with a friend today about getting our license next year. We had this idea about getting a scooter. Now I'm not very familiar with these scooters so I am hoping someone can clarify a few things and tell me a bit about them. As far as I know do correct me if I'm wrong a scooter does seems like the best option. If it is possible, the 'plan' would be, to go get our license when I'm 16, a car license AND a scooter license, I would go to all the training and safety courses I am aware scooters are very dangerous, and perhaps later in life when i don't feel a scooter is 'suitable for my needs' anymore and I would need to transport not only myself but someone else as well, then I would have my car license already and be able to get a car. I just feel that a scooter would be useful for someone in my situation, I hear they are much cheaper than a car, I don't really need to go out a lot, they are cheaper to run and small and easy to store. If I was to get a scooter, what level of power would I need? I had a quick look at the 50cc ones and I think I'd need more power than that, I would like to be able to just zip up to the shops or to my friends' house but I would like to be able to drive on 60 80km h road, to get to the city to go to uni or something. I am not even sure if what I am saying is even possible or realistic, but I would just like to know about these scooters and for someone to help me make a decision.Thanks.

Has anyone bought a scooter from online stores? Is it safe?
I'm planning to buy a scooter but don't want to walk far around the stores to choose one, especially when it's hot now. Has anyone ever had online shopping experience of scooters? Is it safe? Or could someone recommend me some online stores to visit? My budget is not over $1500.
